NOTES ABOUT CARRIAGE, POSTAGE AND DELIVERY

Hi friends-

There are always a number of options for how you can receive anything purchased from the Big Tidy Up site, dependent on the size and weight of the item(s), your location and the urgency of your need for them. As a default, I always try and keep carriage costs to a minimum. It's good for everybody's wallet and it's good for the environment! Some items are listed with the carriage included and there is no additional cost on these items (in the UK!) For items where carriage is not included, the options are-

1- You can collect items of any size from Martin's Lights warehouse in Reading, Berkshire, either in person or via a courier. Cost on the invoice- nothing!

2- Very small items, perhaps up to a couple of kilos, can be sent by standard Royal Mail first or second class post. Cost on the invoice- perhaps up to £5, often only a pound or so if you are buying very small items such as components, DIN/XLR/jack connectors etc. Larger items, such as the dimmers, Raylite reflectors and books currently for sale for example, can be sent by Royal Mail Parcels. Cost on the invoice- depends entirely on the weight of the item but can be in the £5-15 region.

3- Any item can be delivered by myself if it will fit into the Martin's Lights car-based van and if this is viable in terms of fuel costs and distance, or you could meet me at a suitable halfway point. Finally, in my day-to-day gigging and touring activities, I often find myself in or near many of the major cities of the UK and it may be possible to put the item(s) on the tour bus/van/truck and meet you in your own town! Cost on the invoice- let's talk!

The bottom line is, please always ask, and between us we can work out the best (ie cheapest and simplest!) option in each case. When initially enquiring about carriage costs on an item, please include the delivery address in your e-mail, as this information is required at the Post Office to find out the postage cost of an item. It is also very useful if, after making an e-mail enquiry you decide you're not interested in an item, you could let me know- I won't take offence!
Please note that this site is kept as up-to-date as possible, so if items are listed on here, they are still available, even if the listing is old. If something is listed as "sold subject to payment", it is exactly that. I leave items on the site until payment has been received and cleared, as occasionally sales fall through and items become available again. As soon as payment is received, items are removed from the site. (And by the same token, as soon I receive payment from you for an item, it's yours and won't be sold to anybody else, even if they make a better offer!)
Martin.
